Job Description

We are currently hiring for a Project Manager - Information Technology (IT) to join our International IT team. Reporting directly to the Project Management Office Lead of the International IT Team, this role entails proactive risk management for project success and regular reporting of project status to senior leadership within GDMS. You will be collaborating with IT managers and business stakeholders. This role involves being able to balance compliance with business needs, developing and updating comprehensive project plans, and securing resource commitments for project completion.

You will also be responsible for planning, executing, and governing approved IT projects in Canada, overseeing critical project execution and operational information for stakeholders, ensuring real-time awareness of schedule and budget performance, and generating key metrics for project commitment fulfillment.

Typical Duties:

  • Maintain detailed project documentation according to IT project lifecycle procedures.
  • Utilize and tailor IT project management tools to ensure compliance with GDMS policies.
  • Maintain PMO governance to plan, analyze, and monitor resources, budget, prioritization and schedule for all compliance Canadian based projects.
  • Participate in monthly GDMS IT project status reviews and prepare briefing materials.
  • Creating and maintaining Microsoft schedules

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related discipline or equivalent is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience, managing multiple small, medium and large projects within an IT context.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • PMP certification highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks; ITIL certification is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Experience in cost account management and resource management.
  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining resource-loaded project schedules.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
