Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled System Safety and Reliability Engineering Analyst to play a critical role in shaping our cutting-edge systems. In this role, you will directly influence system design by ensuring compliance with safety and reliability requirements throughout the engineering lifecycle.
This is an opportunity to apply your expertise in hazard assessments, fault tree analysis, and risk mitigation strategies while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams. In this role you can expect to:
- Assess contractual system safety requirements, standards and regulations by writing plans and participating in internal and external design reviews, Configuration Control Boards and Prime Contractor System Safety Working Groups to monitoring progress.
- Provide inputs to developers regarding the optimization of the system, evaluating the design to minimize occurrences and impact of hazards and following up to ensure safety measures are implemented will be key components of the role.
- Execute Hazard Assessments and Fault Tree Analyses and categorizing hazards in accordance with the probability of occurrence and severity classifications.
- Collaborate with internal programs and engineering teams
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor degree in applicable discipline
- Experience in the application of system safety disciplines to civilian or military programs,
- Knowledge of systems engineering, hardware design, and software design methods and processes;
- Familiar with Reliability, Maintainability, and FMEA tools.
- Experienced in the development and delivery of technical documentation for complex systems;
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Ideally you will also have some experience in the following;
- Experienced in SAFe Agile environment desirable;
- Knowledge of DO-178, DO-254, ARP-4761, DEF STAN 00-055, DEF STAN 00-056, MIL-STD-1629A, SAE ARP 4761, DEF STAN 00-055 and DEF STAN 00-056
- Knowledge of systems engineering, hardware design, and software design methods and processes;
- Airborne vehicle and component level safety experience
