Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer with 5+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have expert-level domain knowledge of Windows Infrastructure including Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPO), Certificate Services, and other related services. Additionally, they should have extensive experience in transitioning workloads to the cloud or hybrid infrastructure and hold any relevant cloud certifications or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience. Experience with managing and implementing Azure Backup, Azure Arc and Azure HCI stack is highly desirable.
As a technical engineer, you will work with vendors, architectural teams and department management to continually improve information technology infrastructure as well as drive the adoption of the latest technologies.
You will work closely with the IT Leadership team and Cyber security team to deliver transformation aligned to a “Cloud First” strategy.
Provide mentoring and training to others both within and outside of the IT Services department.
- Active Directory Management:
- Design, implement, and manage Active Directory infrastructure
- Develop maintain and update Group Policy Objects (GPO) to ensure secure and efficient system operations
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Active Directory and GPO
- Cloud Transition and Management:
- Lead the transition of on-premises workloads to cloud environments
- Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions, primarily using Azure
- Manage and optimize cloud resources to ensure cost-efficiency and performance
- Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and administration of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, and networking
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions are in place
- Monitor system performance and implement necessary upgrades and patches
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement and maintain security best practices across all infrastructure components
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and support of infrastructure services
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

- Mentor, guide and share expertise with other team members to resolve complex problems and develop complex infrastructure solutions
- Analyse, detect, identify and correct technical problems and deficiencies
- Determines installation parameters for software and hardware, for smooth integration, transition and efficiency
- Troubleshooting complex server / network / storage / virtualisation (including diagnosis and solution) incidents, working to pre-defined SLA’s
- Service request completion. Including updating and communicating to customers and stakeholders
- Undertake patching, hot fixes and maintenance of the virtualisation estate to ensure security accreditation and compliance
- Process automation, procedure creation and implementation
- Provide subject matter expertise to architectural departments to assist in design and implementation of new technologies
- Maintain high level of industry awareness through training and self-development; keep up-to-date with current and future technologies, products and strategies
- Contribute to the design, implementation and maintenance of the disaster recovery plan for IT related applications and systems
- Seek to identify areas of improvements to the IT infrastructure to meet evolving users and customer requirements, challenges and resilience of the environment.
- Build and maintain a strong relationship with vendor account and technical teams as well as peers from other General Dynamics Business units
- Lead qualification of designs and opportunities in the virtual infrastructure space
