General Dynamics in St Leonards-on-Sea currently provide avionic mission computing systems for a wide range of military fast jets, helicopters, and UAV’s. Recent success has resulted in General Dynamics developing the next generation of Advanced High Performance, Safety Critical Mission Computer Systems to meet the needs of latest platforms in development by several aircraft manufacturers. These Mission Computing Systems provide the functionality that integrates aircraft systems, sensor systems and weapon systems with the information and control systems required by the aircrew to meet the demanding operational needs of these aircraft.

Job Description

As a Commercial Manager, you will provide commercial leadership, support and guidance to the business on a wide range of contractual and commercial matters relating to the full contract life cycle from bid preparation/submission through project execution to contract completion/closure.

Leading a team of commercial professionals, the role is varied and will involve hands-on commercial management of several contracts/programmes as well as a broader overarching responsibility across the business portfolio.

The role requires a highly motivated individual who can work as part of a multi-functional leadership team and provide a clear and compelling commercial strategy in support of winning and executing business.

Qualifications

To apply for this Commercial Manager role, you will need relevant commercial and contract experience in the Defence Industry. You will also require the following:

  • Extensive contract drafting experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of terms and conditions and contract law
  • Ability to work with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Contract management and customer relationship management experience and able to discuss and resolved complex issues
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills

Additional Information

General Dynamics Mission Systems aims to be as flexible as possible so this can be a hybrid working role with time spent working from home and our offices in Hastings.

In return for your dedication, collaboration and commitment, you will receive a starting salary of £57,000 to £71,000 and a flexible benefits package.
