General Dynamics in St Leonards-on-Sea currently provide avionic mission computing systems for a wide range of military fast jets, helicopters, and UAV’s. Recent success has resulted in General Dynamics developing the next generation of Advanced High Performance, Safety Critical Mission Computer Systems to meet the needs of latest platforms in development by several aircraft manufacturers. These Mission Computing Systems provide the functionality that integrates aircraft systems, sensor systems and weapon systems with the information and control systems required by the aircrew to meet the demanding operational needs of these aircraft.

Job Description

As a Development Programme Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, analysing and identifying possible improvements through all aspects of quality assurance through the development and operational phase of programmes, with particular attention to the adherence of development and software standards through process implementation in accordance with Company processes.

In this Quality Engineer role, you can expect to:

  • Ensure that non-conforming products, services and processes are investigated and effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented
  • Perform audits at agreed points in the project/product lifecycle
  • Provide support to Senior Quality Manager, Manufacturing leads, Programme Managers, Engineering and other business areas with regards to Quality as required
  • Attendance at selected key reviews in accordance with agreed plans, including reviews at sub-contractors when required.

Qualifications

To apply for this Quality Engineer role, you will need an OND/HNC in an Engineering discipline (Electronics/Mechanical. You will also require the following:

  • Knowledge of MS Office tools
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100
  • Working Experience of DO-254 & DO178C Design Assurance is desirable
  • Understanding of DAOS requirements is desirable
  • Chartered Member of Institute Quality is desirable
  • Defence Industry experience is desirable

This role offers a starting salary of up to £52,000 plus a flexible benefit package.
