General Dynamics Mission Systems in St Leonards-on-Sea currently provide a wide range of Avionic Mission Computing Systems for a wide range Military Fast Jets, Helicopters and UAV’s. Recent success has resulted in General Dynamics developing the next generation of Advanced High Performance, Safety Critical Mission Computer Systems to meet the needs of latest platforms in development by several aircraft manufacturers. These Mission Computing Systems provide the functionality that integrates aircraft systems, sensor systems and weapon systems with the information and control systems required by the aircrew to meet the demanding operational needs of these aircraft.

General Dynamics Mission Systems UK is looking for a Manufacturing Operations Manager to join our collaborative team in Hastings.

The Manufacturing Operations Manager is a strategic senior management role, reporting to The Head of Manufacturing. 

As the Manufacturing Operations Manager, you will have responsibility for the complete manufacturing process, from individual components being delivered to Goods-In, to the complete production of a variety of military electronic units, for both aircraft and land vehicles, ready for delivery to the customer. 

You will have responsibility for resource management and headcount predictions, to ensure we have the required resources over the lifetime of numerous programmes. You will play a major part in both internal and external audits to ensure we gain/retain our accreditations.

To apply for this Manufacturing Operations Manager role, you will need a degree or HND in a related field along with proven experience in a similar role. You will also require knowledge of electronic assembly, scheduling and manufacturing project management along with the ability to create new strategies to help deadlines to be met.

In addition, you should have excellent communication skills to allow for interaction with both senior management and shop floor operators and technicians.

The role of Production Operations Manager has a starting salary of £48,800 to £61,000 dependant upon experience and an attractive flexible benefits package.
