Job Description

As a Materials Handler and Operations Support you will provide onsite operational and facilities support.  Controlled receipt, issue and storage activity within our stores, arrange transport and shipping of items in support of all GDUK programs and control the GDUK assets and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) process.

In this role you will be involved in a wide and varied range of tasks that may include:

  • Maintaining store records in accordance with accounting procedures
  • Loading and unloading of vehicles and containers
  • Receiving Goods and locating within our store facility
  • Ensure that all Goods are receipted and transacted with in our Oracle system
  • Arranging transport and shipping of various items in support of all GDUK programs
  • Stock check and cycle counting.
  • Maintain full & accurate inventory records in line with defence standards in support of MoD & customer audits
  • Complete GFE Audits
  • Porterage, room and event configuration and set up
  • Support delivery of PAT testing regime

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you would have:

  • Experience of stock management systems, transport & shipping procedures - to include movement & handling of dangerous goods
  • Knowledge of Oracle stock system
  • Appropriate PAT testing qualification/certification
  • Forklift license
  • Knowledge and experience of H&S at work requirements
  • Be competent with Microsoft Office - computer literate with a basic knowledge of Word, Excel and Access
  • Excellent team skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision.

We offer an attractive salary of £21,600 to £26,000 plus a flexible benefits package.
