General Dynamics in St Leonards-on-Sea currently provide avionic mission computing systems for a wide range of military fast jets, helicopters, and UAV’s. Recent success has resulted in General Dynamics developing the next generation of Advanced High Performance, Safety Critical Mission Computer Systems to meet the needs of latest platforms in development by several aircraft manufacturers. These Mission Computing Systems provide the functionality that integrates aircraft systems, sensor systems and weapon systems with the information and control systems required by the aircrew to meet the demanding operational needs of these aircraft.

Job Description

As Business Development Manager - Maritime Solutions you will take the lead on all aspects of our portfolio of Maritime pursuits. This strategic role spans the entire spectrum of Business development from stakeholder and opportunity identification, through technology development and program execution. 

This position requires a maritime specialist with broad system knowledge and a good background in underwater acoustics and submarine detection.

To give you an idea of how this role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:

  • Business opportunity identification
  • Internal and external stakeholder management to position GD for success in new maritime business pursuits
  • Provide support for proposal development by proposing requirements and design for new features
  • Provide leadership across a portfolio of maritime pursuits
  • Support business development domestically and internationally by travelling to trade shows to engage customers, perform demonstrations and develop new business relationships

Qualifications

To apply for this role you will need experience in the Airborne, Naval or Anti-Submarine domain. You'll also require:

  • Strong interpersonal and managerial skills, whether working as a self-motivated individual, a team member or leader
  • Domain knowledge and experience of Acoustic Analysis
  • Broad knowledge of the System development process and lifecycles
  • Broad knowledge of the Requirements definition and management
  • Experience in a strategic business-winning role
