General Dynamics Mission Systems in St Leonards-on-Sea currently provide a wide range of Avionic Mission Computing Systems for a wide range Military Fast Jets, Helicopters and UAV’s. Recent success has resulted in General Dynamics developing the next generation of Advanced High Performance, Safety Critical Mission Computer Systems to meet the needs of latest platforms in development by several aircraft manufacturers. These Mission Computing Systems provide the functionality that integrates aircraft systems, sensor systems and weapon systems with the information and control systems required by the aircrew to meet the demanding operational needs of these aircraft.
Job Description
General Dynamics UK is looking for talented Junior Engineers to help develop the next generation of avionics systems.
We are recruiting engineers at graduate level to work on developing some of the most advanced electronic and computing systems that is critical to providing these aircraft and aircrew with some of the most advanced combat mission computing capabilities.
These roles are suitable for recently graduated junior engineers who wish to develop their knowledge and skills and apply them to mission management and control systems applicable to the avionics, maritime or naval domain. These roles afford the successful applicants with the opportunity to rotate disciplines to specialize into a range of engineering domains such as Hardware, Systems Architecture, System modelling, Test and Firmware or maintain a focus on Hardware Engineering.
Qualifications
To apply for these entry level engineer roles, you will need a degree-level education in Electronic or Avionic systems, or suitable Engineering/STEM subjects. You will also require the following:
- Be able to demonstrate a sound theoretical knowledge of engineering principles and enthusiasm in one or more engineering disciplines/topics
- A good understanding of engineering development life-cycles
- A willingness to learn and develop any gaps in experience/competence.
General Dynamics Missions Systems provides flexible working depending on the requirements for each programme. Some regular working on site will be required, typically 2-3 days a week; lab integration work will be on site.
Additional Information
We are looking to recruit a number of Junior Engineers to start now or as soon as possible. We are also looking to recruit individuals who are able to start from May 2024.
These roles offer a salary of up to £32,000 plus excellent flexible benefits.
