General Dynamics in St Leonards-on-Sea currently provide avionic mission computing systems for a wide range of military fast jets, helicopters, and UAV’s. Recent success has resulted in General Dynamics developing the next generation of Advanced High Performance, Safety Critical Mission Computer Systems to meet the needs of latest platforms in development by several aircraft manufacturers. These Mission Computing Systems provide the functionality that integrates aircraft systems, sensor systems and weapon systems with the information and control systems required by the aircrew to meet the demanding operational needs of these aircraft.

Job Description

As a Programme Manager, you will manage all aspects of assigned programmes to achieve schedule milestones and cost targets, meeting performance targets for technical compliance and quality standards, while ensuring customer satisfaction.  The focus of this role is within the Eurofighter Typhoon & TEMPEST programmes.

In this Programme Manager role, you can expect to:

  • Manage and execute programmes from Bid Phase, Large Complex Development Projects, and could include some Production and Support programmes
  • Hold accountability for project performance (schedule, milestones and financial metrics)
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Prepare and implement programme work schedules and project planning, liaising with specialist areas across the organisational matrix
  • Ensure the requirements of the contract are flowed down to the project team with clearly defined tasking
  • Monitor, review and prioritise work schedules with the team and review project resources

Qualifications

  • Defence industry Programme/Project Management experience
  • APMP qualification
  • Considerable experience of Programme Management
  • Knowledge of programme, project management practices and procedures through the development lifecycle
  • Higher qualification and background in relevant field

Additional Information

This role has a starting salary of £62,500 - £85,250 plus flexible benefits.
