Infrastructure Monitoring Engineer

Job Description

My client in Greater Manchester has a contract requirement for a Infrastructure Monitoring Engineer.


They are looking for someone with the ability to monitor multiple infrastructure monitoring systems? Are you someone who can help develop the operational procedures for triage and escalation of issues?

If so, we are looking for a contract Infrastructure Monitoring Engineer to work in our Infrastructure and Programmes stream for at least the next six months. You will be working directly with our Head of Infrastructure and Platforms. 


Key Accountabilities: 

• You will be monitoring the alerts from PRTG, App Dynamics and Azure Insights
• You will be tuning the alerts for correct baseline configuration
• You will be responsible for the triage of alerts and escalation to service owners
• You will enhance and build current and/or new monitoring systems
• You will create and/or refine the monitoring and triage processes
• Experience in working on Agile projects is an advantage
• You will manage and mitigate risks and issues
• You will work closely with key team members to instil best practices
• You will work closely with the Head of Infrastructure and Programmes to ensure IT objectives are achieved
• Previous experience with monitoring IT production systems is essential
• Experience of troubleshooting issues is also essential
• Documenting and improving processes
• You will have experience in developing automated solutions for manual processes using the available tools and/or scripts
• You must have experience of PRTG and Azure insights and ideally experience of App Dynamics

• Agile – Experience of Agile Scrum methodology is an advantage.
