Job Description
FuseFX has an opening in Los Angeles! We have opportunities at our studio for an experienced and talented Senior Level Pipeline Developer with a background in television and/or feature film VFX to join our Development team. The primary focus of this position is to help expand and reimagine the global FuseFX Pipeline.
Goal:
Our vision of a global pipeline needs developers excited to use industry-standard pipeline tools and practices and eager to bridge their skills into new territories using web services. We are actively reimagining our global pipeline. As a result, we are building a next-generation event-driven pipeline using ephemerally deployed services that can scale to meet our growing production demands. We aim to deliver highly available and performant services to our production tracking, asset management, and business intelligence platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop internal software and pipeline tools to service global VFX pipeline
- Providing leadership and guidance to junior TD’s, helping them grow as developers while they assist productions with tools and deadlines.
- Rise to the opportunity to resolve high-level issues with the pipeline and be the first person to troubleshoot and resolve.
- Collaboration with stakeholders to advise and determine the best solutions then deliver based on documented and agreed-upon requirements.
- Flexible and agile to change and eager to force correct to meet project and facility needs.
- Excited to mentor and train employees on new tools while supporting and maintaining current tools.
- Communicate eloquently and effectively with the global pipeline team, management, and end-users to determine the best solutions.
Qualifications
Programming Skills/Languages
- Excellent Python, PySide and PyQt, skills
- Experience developing for digital content creation tools like Maya, Houdini, Nuke, or Unreal
- Experience using Shotgun, FileMaker, or MySQL databases
- Object-Oriented Programming
- Version Control (GitLab)
- Writing clear documentation for tools and scripts (technical and user documentation)
Familiar With:
- Experience in VFX Workflows and Pipelines preferred.
- USD implementation and functionality.
- Proficient with VFX-centric software APIs in Nuke, Maya, Houdini, 3DS Max preferred. Clarisse and Shotgun a plus.
- Interested in cloud services (AWS Lambda, Serverless, SQS, Event Bridge)
- Web stack development using React and JavaScript
