Frontline.Live harnesses the power of live, open data, to connect people in crisis with the resources they need. Currently, Frontline.Live is working hard to connect UK frontline healthcare workers with the PPE they lack, to aid in the Covid-19 crisis.

By collecting, visualising and analysing data from suppliers & people in need, we show political and procurement bodies a more effective, more efficient and more human way of meeting needs in a time of crisis.

This role is all about insights. You are responsible for helping design the data collection fields at the start of the project, and ongoing if the focus of the project changes, and then using this data to provide analysis, reports and data visualisations: End goal is to tell the story from the data for use by all other members of the project and in the content we produce to communicate out. Responsibilities may include:

• Work with the Technical team to define data collection fields at start-up and ongoing so that we collect the data in the optimal format
• Build and maintain the tool to allow data manipulation and cleaning as required. This is currently being performed in an Excel prototype but we plan to move shortly to a BI tool such as Tableau or Power BI
• Analyse data to inform team of key operational stats such as numbers of needs received and in progress, data-cleaning required etc
• Analyse data to create insights in an impactful way to display on the website and for content for Storytellers e.g. Geography of our suppliers and requesters, types of org making requests etc.

• As a minimum, highly proficient in MS Excel, including use of formulae, pivot tables and charts
• SQL skills an advantage
• Data visualisation skills using BI tools such as Tableau, PowerBI or similar
• Good data manipulation and analysis skills
• Curious about data and a problem-solver
• Passionate about story telling with data
