Job Description

Lead Account Executive — Japan (English Proficiency Required)

As a Lead Account Executive based in Singapore, you will drive growth and consistently exceed revenue goals within your assigned territory. You will win new strategic and enterprise accounts, build lasting customer relationships, and apply your SaaS expertise to engage effectively with both business and technical stakeholders across diverse industries.

What You Will Do

  • Engage, Discover & Drive Results: Execute territory strategies to win enterprise business, expand Freshworks’ footprint in the Japan market, and exceed sales targets.
  • Own the Sales Process: Manage the full sales cycle—from prospecting to negotiation and closure—ensuring predictable outcomes and strong performance across key accounts.
  • Articulate Value: Build trusted relationships with senior executives, identify complex business challenges, and position Freshworks as a strategic partner that delivers ROI and growth.
  • Collaborate & Learn: Work closely with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Customer Success, Solution Engineering, and Product) to deliver outstanding customer experiences and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Hunt & Prospect: Develop and maintain a strong, data-backed pipeline with accurate forecasting. Conduct in-person meetings and presentations, representing Freshworks in customer engagements and industry events across Japan.
  • Build the Market Presence: As the first hire in Japan, play a pivotal role in establishing Freshworks’ local presence—shaping go-to-market strategy, nurturing key partnerships, and contributing to the foundation of our long-term success in the region.

Territory - You will be responsible for driving growth and managing enterprise relationships primarily within Japan, while collaborating with regional teams across Asia-Pacific for shared strategic accounts.

 

Qualifications

  •  
  • Experience that counts: 7+ years of quota-carrying SaaS sales experience in mid-market or enterprise segments, with a proven record of exceeding revenue goals.
  • Strategic mindset: Skilled at managing complex sales cycles and engaging multiple stakeholders, including enterprise IT and business decision-makers.
  • Revenue focused: Strong prospecting and pipeline management capabilities, backed by structured forecasting and disciplined execution.
  • Domain knowledge: Proficiency in solution selling of software platforms (e.g., ITSM, IT infrastructure, EX/CRM/Customer engagement solutions) that drive operational efficiency and business impact.
  • Strong collaborator: Customer-centric approach with the ability to build cross-functional partnerships and deliver results in a matrixed organization.
  • Language proficiency: Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required to collaborate effectively with regional and global teams. Proficiency in Japanese (spoken and written) is mandatory to communicate with local stakeholders.
