Job Description
In Freshworks, as a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you will play a role in ensuring the security and compliance of our cloud infrastructure. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of securing our cutting-edge cloud infrastructure, implementing advanced security strategies, and driving proactive security measures.
Responsibilities:
Primarily responsible for maintaining secure cloud environments, focusing on scalable security architecture (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in cloud workloads, applications, and misconfigurations.
Develop and execute threat-hunting frameworks and alert scenarios for proactive monitoring.
Performing security audit reviews on Cloud environments to identify gaps and divergences in implementing security best practices.
Manage and maintain the Web Application Firewall.
Identifying anomalous cloud activity and determining appropriate response measures.
Designing and Implementing security monitoring solutions with use cases.
Responding to security incident escalations.
Collaborate with DevOps, engineering, and IT teams to integrate security controls into workflows.
Providing regular reporting on Security Monitoring metrics.
Qualifications
Overall experience of 3-5 years of experience in cloud security, with at least 3 years in hands-on cloud security engineering, focusing on securing workloads on AWS, GCP, Azure.
Proficiency in scripting and automation (E.g., Python, Shell) and IAC (Terraform) etc.
Experience with implementing security controls in Cloud: IAM, Authentication Mechanisms, Permissions, and Data Encryption.
Working experience on SIEM, Vulnerability Management Solutions, Container Security Tools.
Implement and manage Web Application Firewalls (WAF) to protect applications from threats like SQL injection, XSS, and DDoS attacks, ensuring robust Layer 7 security.
Develop and maintain Golden AMIs with hardened configurations, ensuring secure, compliant, and standardized images for deployments.
Development of Threat Hunting templates and alerting scenarios.
Analytical skills for interpreting security logs, alerts, and incidents.
Responsible for Continuous discovery of vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.
Understanding of Kubernetes, service mesh, and containerized environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
