Job Description - Corporate Strategy shapes the future direction of Freshworks, defining the company's three year strategy and the strategic initiatives across the organization. As a Lead - Market Insights, you will be a part of the Corporate Strategy’s Executive Insights team and will work closely with the cross-functional stakeholders to develop market and competitive level insights that will support and inform our strategic priorities.

You will work on surfacing meaningful business insights, performing market trends and competitive analysis, and identifying patterns to power projects of strategic importance such as our growth strategy, organisational transformation, GTM initiatives, operational excellence and many others. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders from the CEO office, as well as senior leaders from Finance, Revenue Operations, Marketing, Sales, Partner, and Product. We are seeking an intellectually curious problem solver who is experienced and comfortable evaluating complex market trends and translating them into actionable insights to capture commercial value. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on analyst eager to roll their sleeves, uncover and dive deep into vast amounts of data and turn it into actionable insight.

Job Responsibilities:

Market & Consumer Insights:

Continuously monitor and analyse the external ecosystem for emerging trends, insights, opportunities, and threats across:

  • Competitor innovation activity
  • Emerging potential competitors
  • Technology developments
  • Market Trends and
  • Consumer Insights
  • Form a 360 degree view on emerging market trends, technologies, and business models
  • Translate key observations into curated and thought-provoking content that addresses the ‘so what’ for the business
  • Develop Innovation Reports on areas of strategic relevance to the business to encourage the organization to look beyond the horizon and prompt timely discussions about emerging opportunities and threats.

Market, Competitor and Solution Assessments:

  • Support the development of total addressable market assessment, working to identify, evaluate and size the addressable market
  • Support the delivery of competitor landscapes, analysing and benchmarking competitor activity in areas of strategic relevance to deliver actionable insights
  • Support the delivery of solution landscapes, working to identify, evaluate, and shortlist 3rd party solution providers with the capabilities required for potential technology pilot project

Qualifications

 

  • 8+ years experience in market intelligence, competitive intelligence, or a similar role. 
  • Strong analytical and research skills, including, proficiency in using market research tools, performing expert interview and interpreting industry nomenclature 
  • Proficient with SQL to perform data acquisition, aggregation, segmentation and enrichment from existing and new data sources
  • Experience with BI/visualization packages, such as PowerBI and Tableau (preferably strong in PowerBI)Experience with Google Sheets
  • Deep SaaS industry experience
  • Ability to interpret large amounts of data and to multi-task
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams/Geos
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
