Job Description

The Privacy function is responsible for assessing privacy, and compliance risks to the organization, establishing privacy standards, ensuring compliance against those standards across all internal groups and domains, and driving data privacy cultural awareness across the Organization.

We are looking for a passionate and self-driven Privacy professional to join our team to embed a Privacy by Design culture in all aspects of our business and stay on top of privacy compliance. 

Role Expectation

  • Responsible for embedding a Privacy-by-design culture in all aspects of our business
  • Act as liaison between the Legal and the Engineering/product teams to understand and map relevant process workflows and document associated technical controls
  • Provide consultation on day-to-day privacy use case scenarios or provide inputs on tactical and strategic initiatives.
  • Responsible for enumerating privacy risks as applicable to the business and translating the privacy requirements/regulations to privacy controls.
  • Identify, design, implement, and operationalize the control requirements for complying with various security frameworks and certifications.
  • Lead discussions with Product and Engineering teams to understand and map relevant process workflows and document associated technical controls.
  • Strengthen the design of key privacy processes and introduce innovative mechanisms to achieve regulatory resilience.
  • Engage with multiple stakeholders across engineering, product management, and legal to drive privacy initiatives.
  • Proactively identify changing regulatory requirements and appropriately align the product/enterprise infrastructure to accommodate these changes.
  • Drive training and awareness campaigns across the organization to build a privacy culture.

Qualifications

  • 5 - 7 years of experience in the Privacy engineering/ Privacy compliance space.
  • A clear understanding of privacy concepts. Someone who practically breathes privacy!
  • Proven experience in analyzing practical implications of legislative privacy requirements and implementation of recommendations to achieve privacy-aligned outcomes. 
  • Work experience or conceptual understanding of cloud platforms to define controls for the cloud environment and suggest best practices.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of data privacy, data handling/protection, data classification, data protection laws, and data privacy program management
  • Candidates with CIPP/CIPM/CIPT would be preferred.
  • Ability to build relationships, influence others, instill accountability, and get results.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment taking up multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in various time zones.
