Job Description

Sales Director - DACH  (f/m/x)

As our Sales Director DACH, you will be responsible for developing and executing our sales strategy to drive revenue growth and market penetration. You are based ideally in Berlin or within Germany and will lead a high-performing sales team, build strong relationships with key stakeholders, and contribute to Freshworks' business growth. Ideally, you have a proven track record in selling enterprise  SaaS solutions, specifically in the areas of ITSM and CX, combined with a can-do, resilient attitude and strong leadership skills.

  • You will report to a General Manager for the South Europe and DACH region, being the face of Freshworks in the region
  • Develop and formulate  a compelling annual plan, enabling a culture of execution to drive new customer acquisition, expanding existing ones and ensuring high retention rates on existing accounts
  • Build and manage a high-performing sales team, being responsible for performance management
  • Manage  two Senior Sales managers and 12 Account Executives to date, also  participating and driving client and prospect meetings
  • Ongoing mentoring and development of the sales team, including recruiting, hiring and training new reps on the sales process
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business Development, Marketing, Solution Engineering, Customer Success and HR, to align sales efforts with company goals
  • Drive and close both strategic/complex deals as well as regular run rate deals
  • Conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecast meetings, business reviews, monitoring of the sales activity of the team, and tracking of results
  • Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product and service enhancements
  • Forecast sales projections, track performance against targets, and provide regular reporting to senior management
  • Act as a role model for the embodiment of the Freshworks CHAT culture and values
  • Act as an external spokesperson and evangelize Freshworks’ vision, values and brand across the board in the DACH markets, through public events, interviews and published content

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in a managerial role with min 3-5 years of experience as a 2nd line manager in the DACH region
  • 10+ years of software sales experience
  • Strong background in selling SaaS solutions, ideally in the CRM domain
  • Strong experience in working with Enterprise Customers
  • Excellent knowledge of the DACH market and demonstrated success in driving sales growth in the region
  • Exceptional leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire, empower and motivate a sales team, being resilient in moments of change and ambiguity
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, rapidly evolving organization
  • Fluency in both German and English is required (business professional) 
  • A strong network of executives within the customer/prospect base, ideally in a manufacturing
