Job Description

We are looking for a seasoned compensation specialist to join our growing Total Rewards team. In this role, you will be responsible for participating in designing and executing our executive compensation programs and policies to attract and retain our leadership talent as well as prepare materials for the Compensation Committee. 

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Executive Compensation Strategy: 

  • Design and execute executive compensation programs and policies to effectively attract and retain leadership talent
  • Lead and drive the delivery of moderate to complex projects in the executive compensation space
  • Conduct comprehensive executive compensation analysis and reporting

2. Compensation Committee Support: 

  • Prepare materials for Compensation Committee Meetings, including competitive data and alternative plan design scenarios
  • Provide dynamic scenario modeling using quantitative analysis to solve complex problems

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

  • Develop strategic partnerships with Finance, HR, and Legal teams to understand their strategies and father necessary input
  • Monitor regulatory changes, proxy trends, and peer executive compensation data
  • Stay informed on legislation affecting pay programs and report on industry trends 

4. Leadership and Education: 

  • Provide directional leadership for the compensation philosophy within the team
  • Support decision-making by offering compensation alternatives and recommendations
  • Educate and align partners and executives on our compensation programs and industry best practices 

5. Global Perspective: 

  • Utilize global experience across multiple countries and regions
  • Navigate complexities inherent in compensation theories and practices within a hyper-growth technology company 

 

Please note this is a hybrid role that requires an in-office presence 3 days/ week (Tue-Thur) from our San Mateo headquarters. 

 

Qualifications

  • 8-10+ years of experience in total rewards/ compensation
  • Prior experience in executive compensation management for a public company is a plus
  • Experience creating or building compensation programs at a hyper-growth technology company 
  • Experience working with leadership on compensation programs
  • Global experience across multiple countries and regions
  • A foundation in compensation theories and practices
  • Familiar with a broad range of executive compensation topics (e.g., stock dilution, performance equity plans)
  • Knowledgeable on legislation affecting pay programs
  • Experience working with finance and legal partners on technical aspects of compensation, benefits plans, and tax and regulatory issues in a variety of countries. Knowledge in SOX and regulatory compliance 
  • Experience in interpreting and presenting compensation data, conclusions, and proposals, including to executives
  • Expert skills with Microsoft Excel and strong knowledge of Google Sheets

Additional Information

California Pay Range: $200,000 - $265,000+. This range is inclusive of base+bonus potential.

Compensation is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to location, experience, job-related skills, and level. Bonus/equity may be available.
