Job Description

Freshworks is looking for a manager of web & digital copywriting to lead a team of copywriters who develop and write high-quality strategic content across the Freshworks.com domain. As the copy leader for brand voice and tone, leading an effort to up our copy, you and your team will help drive organic search, establish consistency across different digital assets and properties, and ultimately broader awareness of the Freshworks brand.

As a copywriter, you should have a proven track record of simplifying complex topics into
concise, compelling language for the digital space, and be a flexible and collaborative go-getter who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-moving, multitasking environment.  As a team leader, you should have experience managing other writers, preferably within a brand team or with an agency with a brand copywriting focus.

What you'll do: 

  • Manage a small team of copywriters, in house and freelance.
  • Plan, write, edit, and manage a broad range of short and long-form content across the Freshworks.com domain.
  • Contribute to creative content strategy and editorial planning across the site and audience personas.
  • Draft and edit headlines, descriptions and CTAs for direct response assets across a variety of formats and landing pages.
  • Create copy style guides and make continual improvements to copy quality and the content development process. 
  • Understand the Freshworks brand narrative and how to interpret messaging to the right audience and the right moment in the user journey.
  • Manage your end-to-end content development process, sometimes under tight deadlines and rapidly changing parameters.
  • Work effectively with the editor in chief, other internal stakeholders and project leads to discover requirements, source information, meet deadlines, and secure approvals. 
  • Collaborate with writers, product marketing teams, and agencies to drive consistent quality, voice, and style for copy across all digital and brand touchpoints.  
  •  Partner with content strategists to develop strategies and messaging for our digital personas, page templates, and components.
  •  Partner with the research team to validate specific messaging and copywriting strategy with real users.
  •  Engage with the SEO, analytics, and campaign teams to optimize copy for performance.
  • Write for a worldwide US-English audience, optimizing copy for wide-scale translation across multiple languages.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we need someone who has:

  • 7+ years of experience writing for corporate websites and/or digital properties, ideally focused on B2B technology and respective audiences.
  • A portfolio demonstrating relevant and inspired writing and project samples.
  • Some experience with digital ad writing and social copy.
  • Digital-first style and a user-centric, strategy-based approach to writing.
  • Experience and familiarity writing for CX, EX, and IT leaders and related personas.
  • Solid understanding of website design, SEO strategy, digital marketing, and SaaS-based software.
  • Ability to bring the essential narrative into focus, cutting through jargon and fluff. 
  •  Enthusiasm for working in a highly collaborative, hands-on role with a team of talented editors, writers, marketers, and strategists. 
  • Strong project management, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to follow standards for consistency and brand compliance.
  • Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent professional experience.

Additional Information

The annual base salary range for this position is between:$105,060USD - $192,610USD.
Compensation is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to location, experience, job-related skills, and level. Bonus/equity may be available
