Job Description

*Please note that this role can be based out of any of the following countries: Germany, France, the United Kingdom or the Netherlands*

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Provide communications to various stakeholders on issues and act as a liaison to ensure the resolution of any payroll issues.
  • Perform audit, and full review of payrolls prior to commitment to ensure accuracy
  • Handle compliance with internal/external/SOX audits including preparation and updates to the payroll process narrative and respond to any auditor requests for testing and documentation
  • Work with international payroll providers to coordinate timely and accurate payments to employees, taxing authorities, and benefit providers.
  • Ensure all payroll filings are completed accurately and filed on time.
  • Research and resolve payroll issues and respond promptly to all payroll-related questions from employees and managers
  • Coordinate with Finance and Treasury on payroll funding and bank interface files and reconciliations.
  • Confirm accurate payroll expense reporting, working closely with Accounting to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Working closely with the IT team to build system integration and automation.
  • Develop and prioritize processes to improve the payroll experience for employees; drive projects to create efficiencies, improve quality of service delivery, and increase customer satisfaction
  • Execute controls/verifications throughout the payroll process according to best practices and compliance requirements
  • Monitor payroll interfaces and other related systems
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and point of contact for escalations and various ad hoc requests
  • Manage and develop the payroll team, ensuring they are successful, maintaining the company’s values, and providing excellent customer service to all employees
  • Ensure appropriate staff training and cross-training, etc.
  • Monitor External Partner / Vendor service performance on a regular basis
  • Collaborate with External Partner/Vendor on the update of payroll system parameters based on governmental and labor changes
  • Working closely with local Human Resources to resolve any payroll-related issues and support various related projects.
  • Maintain the international payroll procedure manual and/or standard work.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 7+ years of international payroll processing experience including Europe and preferably also for Australia.
  • Prior people management experience with diverse teams is preferred
  • Payroll processing systems experience in a leadership role with  a multinational company and/or a public company
  • Experience working with CloudPay and other various types of payroll technology (Please note that prior CloudPay experience is required for this role).
  • Familiarity with HRIS system, LOA, PTO accrual, and payroll GL
  • Ability to manage multiple project assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Understanding of standard payroll policies, government regulations, and tax requirements.

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal controls, and payroll taxes.
  • Building, developing, and leading Teams - Able to achieve organizational focus on key priorities; delegates and effectively builds talent within an organization through guidance and mentorship. Flexible and able to proactively manage a high-change environment with the different time zone.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with all levels of management, employees, outside vendors, contractors, and consultants.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate data and make operational decisions.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
