The Director of Executive Communications at Freshworks will be responsible for the strategy and execution of internal and external comms programs that showcase the Founder’s vision and corporate strategy. This newly created role will partner closely with Freshworks CEO, Girish Mathrubootham, and the President, Dennis Woodside, to create narratives that land news stories that win the hearts and minds of investors, customers and employees.

You’ll report to the Senior Director, Corporate Communications and work alongside a global band of PR, executive and employee comms gurus - plus a bunch of agencies  - as you build an all-encompassing communications strategy.

The Director will work on a hybrid schedule out of either our HQ in San Mateo, CA or Seattle, WA office.

Job Description

  • Support the CEO and the President with their internal and external communications that showcase who they are, how we make decisions, the values we stand for, and how doing good is ultimately good business. 
  • Take an audience-first approach when creating high-quality content, including keynotes, employee emails, bylined articles, and earnings scripts, adapting for different channels and assessing their effectiveness.   
  • Sniff out the next big tech trends that could fit our CEO and President, brand and product slate, and craft top notch content that tells a meaningful story in that context. Proactively finding ways to get those messages to the audiences that matter most.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years PR/Comms experience, ideally with roles at both agency and in house.
  • Proven superhero-like ability to near-instantly grok and reformulate the value of enterprise software products in a gripping way for buying audiences and non-technical humans.
  • A team player energized by swapping ideas with others and the confidence to pitch it to our CEO and President, working with them to turn great ideas into even better stories.
  • Hustle mindset to track down and synthesize technical information and to piece together stellar stories from offhand mentions in conference calls, field events, water cooler talk with execs, customer interviews, and Slack fragments with, heck, the whole company.

Additional Information

The annual OTE range for this position is $160,000 - $210,000. Compensation is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to location, experience, job-related skills and level. Bonus/equity may be available.Freshworks offers multiple options for dental, medical, vision, disability and life insurances.
