Job Description

We are seeking a motivated candidate for an SEC Reporting Manager to develop streamlined processes and policies and drive the constant enhancement in Freshworks’ finance function, to support and enable the Company’s growth.

The role is responsible for the integrity and accuracy of Freshworks’ quarterly and annual filings. It includes oversight and participation in various planning, drafting and other activities to facilitate the efficient completion of those filings.

Additionally, this role could also participate in reporting all equity-based transactions & related equity based compensation expense, and providing technical accounting analysis of significant or unusual transactions, or recently issued accounting updates. This role will report to the Director of Technical Accounting, and interacts regularly with external auditors, Legal and Investor Relations, with routine exposure to the Corporate Controller, General Counsel, and CFO.

* Location for this position is open to our corporate headquarters in San Mateo, CA, with hybrid work model.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning the quarterly drafting and review cycle; maintain quarterly reporting time table and monitor progress against reporting cycle milestones
  • Managing the flow of information and supporting documentation(s) from various parts of the company to ensure accurate and timely reporting;
  • Collaborating with departments and managers regarding the reporting processes and information required for proper and timely disclosures;
  • Maintaining an awareness of Company products, services and the related regulatory environment to effectively manage and comply with all regulatory reporting requirements and disclosures
  • Developing an in-depth understanding and analysis of significant transactions to assess their impact for SEC disclosure purposes.
  • Review of XBRL tagging
  • Assist in providing support for CD&A, executive compensation, etc. for proxy statement.
  • Assist with month-end close and financial statement review.
  • Other technical accounting and policies processes to participate:
    • Equity compensation expense and collaborating with our stock administration group.
    • Assist with technical accounting research and documentation of new policies and procedures.
    • Monitor the development and applicability of emerging accounting and reporting rules being deliberated by the SEC, US GAAP, PCAOB, or other regulations.
    • Assist with establishment, documentation, and maintenance of company accounting policies.

Assist external auditors and other adhoc projects including continuing improvements and enhancements.

Qualifications

 DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, including Big 4 public accounting experience and SEC reporting experience with a publicly-traded company
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC accounting and reporting requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic-thinking skills with a forward-looking focus
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a team environment working with others
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills with experience in working toward tight deadlines
  • Experience with SOX 404 and internal control over financial reporting
  • Experience with Equity Edge Online, Workiva (formerly Webfilings) and XBRL highly preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated professional commitment, initiative, accountability and ownership of assignments
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adept at handling change
  • Ability to effectively facilitate and present in group meetings

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

Colorado Pay Range: $118,000-145,000+ comprising an annual salary & incentive compensation: You may also be eligible for equity and additional generous company benefits.
