Job Description
We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Casual Sales Assistant to join our Sports Direct store in Bournemouth. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced retail environment, delivering outstanding customer service whilst supporting our team in providing a first-class shopping experience. As a Casual Sales Assistant, you will be at the heart of our store operations, assisting customers, processing transactions, and maintaining our store to the highest standards.
- Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service, assisting customers with product selection and answering queries about our sports and leisure range - Process customer transactions accurately at till points, handling cash and card payments with precision - Stock shelves and maintain visual merchandising displays to ensure the store is well-organised and appealing
- Receive and process incoming stock deliveries, checking items for accuracy and damage - Maintain store cleanliness and organisation, including tidying fitting rooms and sales floors - Support team members during peak trading periods to ensure smooth store operations - Follow all company policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines - Contribute to a positive team environment through collaboration and mutual support
Qualifications
- Proven customer service experience in a retail or similar environment - Strong communication and people skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers - Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to working casual shift patterns, including weekends and bank holidays - Ability to handle cash and operate till systems accurately - Basic numeracy skills and attention to detail
- Teamwork and collaborative approach to supporting colleagues - Desirable knowledge of sports, fitness, or outdoor products - Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy trading periods - Problem-solving mindset and willingness to take initiative - Enthusiasm for delivering excellent customer service and contributing to store success
