-Location: Virginia Beach, VA
-Salary: $100K+ base + 10% annual bonus

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and oversee domestic transportation operations for 2 distribution centers and 70 branches.
• Manage and negotiate costs for hundreds of annual ocean container imports.
• Build and optimize carrier relationships, freight rates, and cost-saving strategies.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. import regulations (HTSUS, ISF, ECCN, Incoterms).
• Establish a customs compliance framework and streamline import processes.
• Drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance supply chain scalability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Distribution, Field Operations, Inventory, and Procurement teams.
• Track carrier performance KPIs and execute an annual transportation RFQ.
• Spearhead process improvements in logistics, transportation, and compliance.

Who You Are:

-5-7 years of experience in domestic transportation, freight, and logistics.
-Some customs compliance experience and willingness to take ownership of this function.
-Proven success in freight cost negotiations and carrier management.
-Strong knowledge of import regulations (HTSUS, ISF, ECCN, Incoterms).
-Self-starter with a take-charge mindset—excited to build from a blank slate.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
-Willing to work in the office daily in Virginia Beach, VA.
-Open to obtaining a customs brokerage license (company-sponsored).
-No export experience required—this role focuses on imports and domestic transportation.
-Willing to travel up to 35% first year to DC's in KS & SC. 15% travel starting year two.
