Job Description

PAY RATE: $18.05 + $0.25 shift premium

11am- 8:30pm 

  • Teach new employees work tasks, techniques and software used in both Raw and RTE kitchen. Review job descriptions and/or safety documents related to Kitchen department positions. Inform supervisor of daily progress of employees as required. Provide training for new hires/transfers, temporary and on-going remedial or updated training for existing employees as required.
  • Monitor and facilitate kitchen department operations to maintain the efficient flow of the process to meet department daily goals. Provide coverage for temporary vacancies on the RAW and RTE kitchen; fill-in and perform all the tasks as required.
  • Conduct plant tours for new employees, facilitate and/or assist with new hire and ongoing training including: GMP, Safety, general topics and quality assurance.
  • Obtain work schedule, obtain paperwork and prepare for operations. Assist supervisor and lead with shift set-up
  • Coordinate and conduct daily raw material inventories. Follow FIFO of ingredients in kitchen and report any abnormalities to supervisor or lead.
  • Troubles shoot Kitchen department problems, make minor repairs and adjustments and assist maintenance with other repairs. Report adjustments, mechanical issues and maintenance suggestions to lead and supervisor.
  • Assist with and ensure completion of CCP 1 & CCP 2 HACCP documentation, traceability and batch records.
  • Report to assigned work station and obtain tools, check equipment and check recipe as required.
  • Attend daily meetings and assist in making decisions and calculations regarding fill requests from production.
  • At end of shift, secure all equipment, perform general housekeeping duties and complete all required paperwork
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment, tools used to perform the job, climbing ladders and be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work safely and set an example of safe working habits for his/her coworkers
  • Must be able to understand and perform the various tasks to standards established for the department
  • Must be able to read written instructions and communicate verbally in English with management and hourly employees; bilingual English/Spanish (preferred)
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office; strong understanding of SAP preferred
  • Must be able to understand and follow all written SSOP’s
  • Must be able to understand MSDS ( Material Safety data sheets)
  • Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Knowledge of basic mathematical skills and work experience of specific department preferred
  • Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check
