Job Description

  • Responsible for his/her respective department and for meeting departmental goals and standards on efficiencies, productivity, cost and safety.  Also responsible for quick and timely feedback to management on all exceptions.
  • Directly responsible for the development and training of employees, working within the guidelines of the union contract and company polices.  Includes non-union office clerical staff.
  • Directly responsible for monitoring standards needed to control area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for the coordination of trailers and tractors necessary to service and move product between the TDC, Plants 1 and 2, the BLAST and the packaging warehouse and the outside storage facilities in Turlock,
  • Directly responsible for giving safety orientations and holding safety/general meetings.
  • Responsible for making sure preventative maintenance is done on all equipment in area of control and interfacing with immediate management on all suggested changes that would make the job better, more profitable and safer.
  • Responsible for testing and developing techniques and processes on equipment as directed by management (Powered Industrial Truck certification and evaluations, JSTA’s, etc.).
  • Help maintain and improve quality and food safety, to insure compliance with company quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements.
  • Arrangements for product disposal.
  • Assist Inventory Control in all functions when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned, to include special projects.
  • Must maintain a good working knowledge of all warehouse related systems (SAP and WMS).

Qualifications

  • Must have an AA/BS degree, high school or technical school graduate
  • Must have one to three (1-3) years experience in shipping/warehousing, preferably in a food industry environment with prior supervisory experience
  • Must have demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must have computer knowledge (Windows, Excel and OP System)
  • Must be able to evaluate employees fairly and objectively
  • Must be able to interface on a daily basis with all support groups or departments
  • Must be able to work in a cold environment including sub zero temperatures
  • Must be able to stand/walk for 8-10 hours per day
  • Must be familiar with computerized inventory system
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred
  • Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check
