Job Description

  • Responsible for meeting processing, production, and further processing department and Company goals and standards on quality, food safety, humane handling, yield, productivity, cost, and safety.
  • Responsible for quick and timely feedback to Production Manager in all exceptions regarding problems encountered with productivity, downtime, quality, food safety, yield, cost, and safety.
  • Develop and implement solutions to these problems encountered and manage the correction of problems while creating systems to prevent their re-occurrence.
  • Ensure department compliance with Company policy and procedures, laws and regulations, which include USDA, SSOP and HACCP programs as well as OSHA, required safety programs.
  • Responsible for selection training and professional development of the supervisory staff.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of Company assets; make recommendations for acquiring necessary items to support business objectives.
  • Work independently to ensure employees coordinate their efforts on a daily basis toward achieving a safe, productive working environment.
  • Ensure the safety and quality of product being produced through the decisions made regarding corrective actions, non-conforming product, finished product release, document control and customer / consumer complaints.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in business management or related field or equivalent experience (eight to ten years) with increasingly responsible management positions in the poultry processing industry.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good problem solving skills and ability to accurately make appropriate adjustments.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Able to prioritize/adjust quickly to a changing work environment with minimal supervision to meet changing production needs.
  • Proficient use of PC including Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • HACCP/SSOP certification and/or experience preferred. 
  • Must submit and pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
