Job Description

  • Perform all phases of maintenance (i.e. installing, troubleshooting, repairing, welding, fabricating, etc) to insure equipment is maintained and operating in a safe and optimal manner.
  • Proactively perform line inspections, generate work orders, effectively troubleshoot and repair all equipment in an expert manner.
  • Complete work orders, part requisitions, and preventative maintenance on time with accuracy and excellent craftsmanship.
  • Direct/instruct lower classification employees and employees still in training.

Qualifications

  • Other duties as assigned including building maintenance, general cleaning and/or assisting other departments if required.
  • Coordinate equipment downtime, services, and repairs with other departments to ensure employee safety and food safety while limiting the impact to production processes.
  • Stocking, Organizing, and performing cycle counts on all maintenance part inventories

Additional Information

  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Must be able to perform basic math functions, comprehend equipment manuals and instructions, and read schematics.
  • Physically; must be able to safely climb ladders/stairs, work from ladders/scaffolds, push/pull/bend/crouch, lift 50 pounds, and walk/stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be familiar with pumps, gear ratios and speeds, operation of hand and power tools, pneumatic equipment functions
  • Able to use welding and cutting equipment and be proficient in all aspects of plant maintenance.
  • Able to effectively troubleshoot and repair
  • Capable of understanding electrical controls, wiring devises, motor controls, VFD’s, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Understanding of electronics and PLC’s is a plus.
  • Preference may be given to a candidate with an L.M.E or P.J. Electrician license.
  • Familiarity with Freon and Ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
  • Understanding of salient OSHA standards and guidelines.
  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and times dictated by production requirements.
  • Must be able to submit and pass a drug test and criminal background check.
