PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Brand Manager is charged with the development and execution of business plans and delivering the financial and marketplace goals set by Director or executives. Responsible for developing, coordinating and executing all activities of key marketing initiatives with the intent of meeting both short and long term goals for net sales and profits for our business. This includes taking the lead role in the strategy development and operations results phases of these initiatives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Develop and execute marketing objectives,strategies, and tactics
Optimize the marketing mix to deliver the profit objectives. Set the consumer and trade budgets, recommend and take pricing actions, and manage the P&L.
Coordinate with Product Management, Plant Personnel, Transportation and the Distribution Center to ensure high performance levels.
Coordinate activities of internal functions such as R&D, Operations, Purchasing, Sales, and Finance/Accounting as well as external resources such as agencies, consultants, research suppliers,co-packers, printers, etc.
Conduct analysis to evaluate category, brand, competition, market performance, distribution, promotion effectiveness, pricing, etc.
Identify opportunities and threats and adjust plan as necessary.
Identify, develop, and launch product line extensions and new products. Lead product quality and improvement efforts.
Develop executive presentations
Partner with Sales team members on sales calls
Bachelor’s degree in related field with MBA or significant progress towards obtaining and MBA
Minimum 5 years of demonstrated analytical and marketing experience.
4-6 years of retail brand management experience with a food business at a company with a classical marketing approach. Both consumer and trade marketing experience a must.
Strong grasp of CPG and brand management fundamentals
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Syndicated Data Tools, ERP Software
Excellent presentation skills with both large and small audiences
Demonstrated ability to understand ramifications of business unit decision to other components of the company.
Highly proficient at project management. Knowledge and experience in new product development and market introductions.
Strong interpersonal, leadership, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Proven track record of success with increasing levels of responsibility.
5+ year track record of increasing responsibility in like business or product line.
Experience with the geographic roll-out of a brand or line extension
Ability to move up or cross functionally within the organization.
Ability to travel
Ability to obtain valid CA Drivers License & obtain reliable transportation for business travel
Consistent and reliable attendance
Ability to work in fast paced, high pressure situations
Ability to lift 30 pounds
