Job Description
Purpose: Create a competitive advantage to Foster Farms through reducing purchasing/sourcing and supply management costs while increasing shareholder returns. Create a core supplier network that assists us in delivering the technology, knowledge, products, and services that will provide Foster Farms a competitive advantage in the market place. Provide strategy and create beneficial deals for Foster Farms’ Sourcing Department. Develop and disseminate required policies, direction, and coordination of several strategic corporate functions, across inter-company and regional areas of the Foster Farms organization.
Essential Functions:
Direct, manage and oversee purchasing functions to meet company requirements for contracts, goods, services, vehicles, equipment and construction at lowest total cost.
Provide overall planning, budgeting, and personnel development for the department and procurement cycle. Compile and tract prices forecasts, create company budget numbers for MRO, Capital Projects, Fleet, Equipment, Supplies, Property, Professional Services, Site Services and Procure to Pay Process.
MRO, direct process materials and energy. Optimize procurement operations to insure lowest possible administrative costs while providing excellent data tracking.
Direct efforts and actively identify and evaluate new alternate forms, sources and methods of obtaining major materials, site and professional services.
Develop, train and mentor top talent.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent required, MBA preferred.
Must have ten years work experience in Purchasing with both material management. California and commodity experience a plus
Strong analytical skills, with highly proficient use of Excel
Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications: word processing, presentation, data base management
Experience in Purchasing system operation and SAP
Demonstrated leadership and problem solving skills including ability to develop top talent
Strong communication abilities, capable of simplifying complex data
Excellent Interpersonal and Negotiating skills.
Strong accounting and tax knowledge
