Job Description

Purpose of Position:

Reporting to the Head of Total Rewards, the Compensation Manager will be responsible for managing companywide compensation function for all departments through researching, establishing, and maintaining the company's pay system. The compensation manager plans, develops and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures to be responsive to the company's goals and competitive practices. 

Essential Functions:

Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.

Perform analysis and market studies on current programs, using insights to develop solutions that ensure internal fairness and external competitiveness. Conduct job evaluation analyses using standard job evaluation techniques.

Manage application of merit review process and application of bonus programs. Review proposed salary adjustments for conformity to established guidelines, policies, and practices. Participate in and/or lead various corporate wide projects involving compensation, benefits or total reward issues

Develop techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting data. Formulates recommendations regarding development and modifications of company salary structure, and FLSA exemptions.

Develop and participate in compensation surveys to collect and analyze comparative salary information to determine company's relative competitive position. Establish a business network to obtain comparative information when needed while observing safe-harbor protocols, managing through third party as necessary

Review and audit requisition job postings for conformity to established guidelines, policies, and practices

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources Management or related discipline.

Five to ten years of progressively responsible experience in managing compensation programs. Courses acquired towards CCP preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, competitive compensation strategies and practices including job evaluation, market analysis and determination of salary grades/classifications.

Knowledge of government regulations as they apply to compensation base, company policies, and operations.

Knowledge and experience of current compensation practices and trends including analysis and design of compensation plans and market analysis.

Proven analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to synthesize information and data from a variety of sources.

Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while prioritizing and meeting deadlines and be able to handle highly sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.

Ability to build, sustain and influence relationships at all levels and develop networks, as appropriate.

Strong computer skills, including advanced Excel, intermediate or better MS Word, Access, and HRIS systems.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
