Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Assistant Marketing Manager is responsible for the management of the Ready to Cook (RTC) Simply Raised and Organic Chicken product lines in alignment with the overall business unit and company strategy. This individual will be the key contributor in the achievement of the annual financial objectives and long term strategic plan with heavy emphasis on helping us grow our Chicken business in the areas of Organic as well as Chicken raised without antibiotics. The Assistant Marketing Manager will be responsible for initiating and executing business building projects involving consumer promotions, trade and consumer communications, research, new product development and packaging design. He/she will collaborate across the organization to execute initiatives and deliver objectives and will support the RTC Marketing Manager with actionable analysis of financial reporting, syndicated data and competitive products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Analyze financial reports, syndicated data, competitive activity, consumer research, etc. and provide insights to Director of Marketing and cross functional team members

Coordinate with Product Management and the Sales team in the planning of opportunities relative to the raising of birds, usage of meat, and scheduling of plants

Develop and participate in consumer research projects and analysis of results

Initiate and manage new product development projects and product launches

Support consumer communications planning and creation

Monthly and annual product line forecasting

Conduct competitive product research

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Demonstrated experience in an analytical position

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Syndicated Data Tools, ERP Software

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated excellence in project management and organizational skills

Excellent presentation skills with both large and small audiences

Above average intelligence with the ability to think critically

Ability to build relationships and accomplish tasks thru others

Strong personal confidence level

Preferred Requirements:

MBA

3 years of experience in a marketing role at a food / cpg manufacturer, or other equivalent work experience

Strong grasp of CPG and brand management fundamentals

Experience managing consumer promotion and communication budgets

Solid understanding of financial reporting, syndicated data and consumer research results

2 to 4 years experience with the assigned product line or a related or similar category
