Job Description
As an Associate Product Manager- B2B in our Outdoors business unit, you will coordinate new product development activities, ensuring projects move successfully through the stage-gate process for our Fypon and Fiberon railing product lines. You will serve as the product expert for your assigned projects, working closely with marketing communications, engineering, supply chain, and other internal partners to deliver high-quality products to market.
This role is ideal for someone with a background in marketing or engineering, some market-based experience, and an interest in product development within consumer, durable goods, tools, manufacturing, or plumbing.

Position location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness and recreation.
What you will be doing
- Coordinate and manage product development activities for Fypon and Railing product lines, ensuring projects move through the stage-gate process on time and within quality standards.
- Serve as the product expert for assigned lines, providing guidance and insights to internal stakeholders across functions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including marketing communications, engineering, supply chain, sourcing, and sales—to ensure smooth execution of product initiatives.
- Support go-to-market activities, including product launches, content and collateral development, and sales enablement.
- Conduct competitive and market research to inform product features, design direction, and positioning.
- Maintain and update key project documentation, timelines, and status reports to ensure visibility and alignment.
- Ensure product information is accurate and current across pricing documents, spec sheets, websites, and digital platforms.
- Assist in the development of training materials for internal teams and customers.
- Support forecasting, pricing updates, and ongoing product lifecycle management activities.
- Participate in trade shows and industry events to stay informed of market trends and customer needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business, or a related field and 2+ years of experience in product development, marketing, or engineering; OR in lieu of a degree, 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and work cross-functionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to travel approximately 15%.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in B2C or B2B environments.
- Experience working in consumer durable goods or building products industries.
- Exposure to P&L metrics, category management, or pricing analysis.
Additional Information
Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $70,000 USD - $100,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
