Job Description

In this position, you’ll have the opportunity to: Lead cost improvement projects in quality and productivity. Prepare and implement capital improvement projects and actively participate in the development of lean processes. The Process Engineer must act as a safety champion in the Butler Manufacturing Operations and drive safety improvements daily through the following actions:

  • Participate in incident investigations and resolutions
  • Develop process improvements with a “safety first” attitude
  • Immediately address any potential safety issues with the appropriate personnel
  • Review and evaluate ergonomic and safety concerns and risks for all activities and projects.
  • Focus on safety and ergonomics are a required and essential part of this role.
  • The PE must act as a change agent and strive to continuously improve and develop a safety focused culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for specific sets of processes (more than one) i.e. Door system assembly, Door finishing, cut down operations, etc. New product integration into plant operations to ensure Safe, Quality and efficient production processes Development of standard work instructions for assigned processes Develop and facilitate process improvements for assigned processes Work with quality and production to identify gaps between current process and standardized work and develop corrective actions to resolve Identify and resolve process and quality problems for assigned processes Act as an agent for cultural change and challenge the status quo. Lead & facilitate process improvements & Capital projects.

 

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have:

  • 4-year engineering degree required
  • 5 or more years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Passion & Drive to continuously improve plant operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean Manufacturing experience Preferred
  • Six Sigma Black Belt and / or Green Belt experience preferred+
  • Knowledge of SPC, gages & QC systems related to Manufacturing
  • Project Management Professional preferred
  • GD&T, APQP, and Product Design / Launch experience preferred
  • Mini Tab experience preferred
  • Experience with compression molding preferred

 

 

Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $60,000 USD - $99,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
