Job Description

As a Senior Manager, Global Category Sourcing, you will lead strategic sourcing activities for multiple assigned categories. You will work closely with global supply chain leaders across all Fortune Brands to develop & implement sourcing strategies that would effectively reduce the total cost of ownership of category spend, leveraging world-class negotiation skills, tools, and processes. You will lead the transformations in collaboration with Finance & our stakeholders of all impacted organizational functions.

Position location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness and recreation

RESPONSIBLIITIES:

  • Develop an effective strategy Manage for the assigned categories including the study and analysis of the market conditions, global technical and manufacturing capabilities to feed multiple FBIN sites, the best total cost of ownership to ensure that materials are purchased at competitive prices.
  • Lead and execute supplier agreements to protect different FBIN businesses.
  • Work with the Global Sourcing Team to embed a ‘Should Cost’ methodology into supplier negotiations.
  • Build, recruit, mentor and train a high performing team that will support FBIN’s future strategy.
  • Lead sourcing efforts to develop the lowest total cost of ownership, improving our competitiveness, service levels and quality position.
  • Provide plans and deliver annual improvement goals for key performance indicators – cost, quality, delivery and working capital.
  • Develop requests for quotations and proposals, analyze supplier responses, negotiate, and award contracts. Manage post-agreement supplier activities.
  • Drive productivity by working closely with operational and supply chain champions, continually improving sourcing processes, driving standardization of common items, and eliminating waste in the supply chain.
  • Support the new product development process as necessary. Work directly with Sourcing New Product Design Team to provide a clear supply chain/sourcing strategy to support the new product initiative; evaluate potential suppliers to validate they can meet expectations.  Manage the category sourcing aspects of the NPD process.
  • Closely interface with Supplier Quality Engineering to ensure supplier quality performance meets FBIN targets

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in Category Sourcing, Regional Sourcing and or Global Sourcing roles with a demonstrated experience managing multiple categories and supply bases across multiple regions.
  • Deep understanding of best-in-class procurement practices including extensive end-to-end experience in Sourcing process, Negotiations, Supplier & Industry Analysis, and RFx expertise.
  • Experience leading global teams, across multiple regions.
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $124,000USD - $190,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
