Job Description

As the VP of Operations Finance, you will play a key role in driving financial excellence, fostering collaboration, and empowering teams to make informed, strategic decisions. You will guide and manage a high-performing global finance team, ensuring financial strategies support business growth, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability.

As a trusted partner to the Chief Supply Chain Officer, you will provide financial guidance on key initiatives—helping teams navigate challenges, optimize resources, and drive impactful results. Position location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness and recreation.

What you will be doing

  • Guide and develop the Operations Finance team while serving as a strategic and trusted partner to the Chief Supply Chain Officer.
  • Establish strong financial partnerships with senior stakeholders, fostering collaboration to drive business objectives.
  • Oversee financial strategy and operations, including monthly close, forecasting, planning, and key performance tracking for global operations.
  • Provide financial guidance in supplier negotiations, contract development, and large-scale operations and supply chain initiatives.
  • Identify and implement solutions to address variances in budgets, forecasts, and business plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement, streamlining processes to enhance efficiency and deliver faster, more actionable insights.
  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation, managing standard costs, reserves, and variance capitalization.
  • Support M&A activities, including due diligence and financial integration of acquired businesses.
  • Develop and mentor top finance talent, fostering a high-performance culture through effective hiring, coaching, and career progression.
  • Manage, guide, and inspire a global finance team (4 direct reports, 55+ indirect reports), ensuring strong performance, engagement, and growth.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of finance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven expertise in financial strategy and operations within a manufactured product company.
  • Experience leading finance teams in a unionized, multi-plant environment, ensuring alignment with operational and business objectives.
  • Deep knowledge of financial planning and analysis tools, driving data-informed decision-making and business optimization.
  • Extensive experience in M&A financial integration, joint ventures, and supply and distribution agreements, supporting long-term business growth.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.

Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $245,000 - $290,000. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
