Job Description
YOUR ROLE:
- Read and interpret moderate to complex part drawings
- Perform quality system and process audits, document findings and report
- Perform dimensional analysis on component parts and/or assemblies
- Perform and evaluate process capability/process data studies using Minitab
- Develop data collection methodology with Quality Engineer
- Use precision measurement devices to perform dimensional inspection on components
- Perform and evaluate measurement system uncertainty
- Utilize Blue Yonder to create inspection lots, locate, block, release, and move product as needed
- Develop simple functional Go/NO go gauging and gauge layouts
- Perform process parameter audits against established standards, setup sheets, control plans, preventative maintenance schedules etc.
- Create and update quality documentation as needed within production part approval process and engineering change release with quality engineer
- Able to make decisions on product quality and disposition
- Perform product audits as needed utilizing Blue Yonder
- Develop inspection plans and gauging as needed under direction of the QE/Supervisor
- Review gauging criteria on new product and develop appropriate gauging methods with quality engineer/supervisor
- Create and update gauge boxes, gauge banks as needed with quality engineer
- Provide guidance on cosmetics, gauging, standard work and other quality related topics to production inspectors, auditors, and other associates as needed
- Perform material review and analysis on customer return material as needed
- Generate and track area metric reports utilizing developed templates utilizing various programs such as MES
- Collect and analyze first pass yield data
- Work with production, engineers, quality team, and Fiberon management to resolve quality issues
- Make product dispositions, respond to and communicate daily on quality issues
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or GED is required
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- American Society of Quality Certification as Certified Quality Improvement Associate, Certified Quality Technician and/or other Quality designation is desired
- Ability to use measuring instruments and gauges accurately
- Ability to read and understand procedures, work instructions, engineering drawings, and other process documentation
- Prior experience with Minitab and MES is preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office is preferred
- Must work well within a team environment to problem solve and troubleshoot
- Ability to prioritize work, lead improvement initiatives and problem resolution
- Must have a customer focused attitude when services are requested
- The minimum ability to lift 40 pounds
