Job Description

Engineering Co-op opportunities exist in Process, Quality, and Continuous Improvement.

These opportunities are available in our manufacturing plants located in Butler, IN, Mocksville, NC, New London, NC, Sanford, NC, New Bern, NC, Brookings, SD, Meridian, ID.

Our Co-op program give students opportunities to build on their academic skills and gain valuable hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.  Our Engineering Co-Op will support various engineering activities in product development, field service, product quality, productivity improvement and engineering or technical innovation. 

Responsibilities:

  • Supports implementation of projects & acts as a program manager to lead smaller scale projects.
  • Assists with Kaizen events.
  • Completes line performance analysis by using KPI metrics.
  • Utilizes various programs such as Windchill, AutoCAD, SAP, and Creo.
  • Completes studies of critical processes & support implementation of material movement strategies.
  • Creates and updates various plant drawings maintained by engineering.
  • Works with materials planning to both order appropriate material and issue trackers in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program focusing on Mechanical Engineering
  • Experienced using Microsoft Products including Power Point, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience in CAD or SolidWorks.
  • Understand and demonstrate engineering terms & concepts.
  • Willingness and desire to develop a career in Engineering.
  • Creative, flexible and deadline oriented with a basic understanding of project management (planning, organizing, priority setting).
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness as well as team and interpersonal skills to participate in cross-functional teams.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is required in performing all functions of this position.
  • Excellent written and oral communications are required.
  • US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
  • Prefer the student is able rotate to work a minimum of 2 semesters/40 hours per week.
