Job Description

This position will lead and support the product bill of materials within the product portfolio in the stock category.  This position will function as a key interface between Product Engineering and multiple other MBCI departments for the OFS System to support business requirements for new product development, product changes, special projects, and continuous improvement.  This position is a non-supervisory role.  This position is located at the Jasper, IN corporate office.

Organizational Relationship

This position reports to the Manager of Product Engineering.

Accountabilities

  • Develop & maintain Bill of Material structures in OFS business system for new products, product changes, special projects and continuous improvement projects
  • Support / make enhancements to the BOM system on an as needed basis
  • Support BOM productivity performance and accuracy
    • Conduct audits of product to verify accuracy of BOM structure by reviewing 5% of uploaded data
    • Document any productivity improvements that will yield reduced effort and work load
    • Determine and document any standardization efforts
  • Coordinate part and/or process changes with the Scheduling team
  • Supply plant files (new product and/or product changes) to Scheduling, Materials, Plant 5 and Accounting
  • Coordinate / communicate packaging changes (Packsize) with Manufacturing Engineers
  • Provide off-site support by auditing, validating and attending events at the plant on an as needed basis
  • Support and set up marketing / photography orders on an as needed basis during launch planning
  • Attend Product Launch Summary Checklist meetings for NPI, as scheduled & weekly Product Implementation (PIT) meetings
  • Maintain OFS Tables: Procurement code, Procurement weight for material transfers (bill of lading), Item type, Physical Inventory Code, Unit of Measure
  • Maintain spreadsheets for active & discontinued style summaries for all applicable brands
  • Assign new part numbers and style codes for new product
  • Update Replacement Part Table with new styles, SKUs or changes
  • Coordinate new parts to appropriate resources for routing assignment & pricing
  • Request downloads & gather data, as requests are submitted
  • Support Cost Accounting, as required, especially during standard settings
  • Perform other tasks as assigned at management’s discretion

Qualifications

Characteristics & Attributes

  • Working knowledge of ERP business system
  • Experience with Microsoft applications including Excel & Word
  • Ability to read drawings and understand the technical content
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy; Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot system problems: explain issues; ability to audit system changes
  • Motivated and self-directed with ability to work in a team oriented environment
  • Good problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiar with using Monarch software a plus

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is minimally required
  • Associates degree or similar technical background is preferred
  • Cabinet knowledge and manufacturing experience highly preferred
