Job Description

Position Summary

The New Product Execution (NPE) Engineer is responsible for the launch of new products starting from a design stage into the test phase (pilot runs) and into a production phase. He/she is responsible to monitor the on time completion of all corresponding tasks related to the execution of a new item.  The NPE Engineer works closely with the Execution Teams of each manufacturing plant of the organization to clarify any questions related to the new item(s). He/she serves as a liaison between the plants and the sales team.

Organizational Relationship

Position reports directly to the NPE Manager and supports our Masterbrand Cabinets division based in Weslaco TX.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all new product execution
  • Assures proper procedures are in place in regards to product specifications qualifications sample development & pilot run execution
  • Assure On Time & Quality completion of projects
  • Coordinate internal communication between plants & departments to be able to execute programs successfully
  • Develop determine & implement policies procedures & programs to drive continuous improvement
  • Understand Operations impact related from the launch & continuous execution of each New Product Execution Project
  • Ensure the proper product launch process implementation & sign off of production are followed through proper forms & procedures
  • Work closely with manufacturing plants to recommend changes improvements and additions to their respective product lines capacity & processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify customer requirements & translating them into product specifications
  • Provide leadership & hands on management to design engineering development & program management execution
  • Manage product development and integration from R&D activities to production deliveries
  • Ensure that product development is focused on meeting & exceeding internal & external customer requirements
  • Capacity to interpret Engineering Drawings
  • Computer Skills required for ERP/Windows
  • Interact with Engineering manufacturing plants for the purpose of evaluating performance capacity delivery of project requirements agreements & product execution
  • Identify & understand current needs and future technology trends in our industry and participate in addressing those needs

     

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Industrial/Mechanical Engineering degree required
  • Positive & Service oriented attitude
  • Able to work under pressure but always with team spirit
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) & strong communication skills
  • Able to deal with customer & manufacturing plant needs
  • Analytic capacity to analyze financial and operational data to resolve problems
  • Strong Planning Costing & Organizational abilities
  • Able to generate tangible improvements (KPI’s)
  • At least 3 years of proven Lean Manufacturing & Engineering experience
  • Interface with QA regarding any observed or reported safety/quality issues
  • Travel to the manufacturing facilities & other locations as needed will be required
