Job Description

Role Summary 

Reporting to the Director of IT the Desktop Support Analyst will be responsible for supporting all corporate desktops and employees of Fortius Sport & Health. The incumbent will also be liaising with 3rd party outsourcing vendors to maintain IT operations on a daily basis. The role will ensure all applicable incident, problem and change (ITIL) processes are followed and both user and procedure documentation are maintained. This role is required to be on-call or work early mornings/late evenings, weekends as required.  

Responsibilities

• Provide first line response for users requiring assistance with information technology issues and problems.

• Respond to requests for technical assistance by phone and email.

• Track incidents using an incident management system 

• Track issues to resolution updating the internal knowledgebase

• Support personal computers, tablets, smart phones, network equipment and common applications

• Recognize problems that affect end users and work to resolve efficiently. Escalate to other IT team members as required 

• Fully document problem symptoms and capture all relevant system and application information within the incident tracking system, and track incidents through to resolution

• Maintain, monitor, and support current and new desktop deployments using industry standard imaging tools (SCCM)

• Support both local and traveling users utilizing remote assistant tools 

• Provide support for all IT peripherals as required

• Assist in the execution of documented IT policies and procedures

• Other duties may be assigned as required

Qualifications

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in technical support role

• Solid understanding of Microsoft Operating Systems and Products including Windows 7, Windows Server ( 2008/2012), Active Directory and Microsoft Office

• Ability to troubleshoot/resolve issues with desktop hardware and software with minimal supervision

• Ability to work in a variety of team environments

• Consistently exercise initiative, discretion and independent judgment

• Demonstrated problem solving skills.

• Knowledge of VPN connectivity and troubleshooting.

• Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record systems is an asset

• Knowledge of Mac Operating Systems is an asset

• Industry certification is strongly recommended (MCSA, MCSE, A+)
