Job Description

The Pilates Instructor works as a central member of
the multi-disciplinary team that is dedicated to progressing injured and
post-surgical clients through the Fortius rehabilitation pathway and back to
their sport environment. The Pilates Instructor is a movement education
specialist, who is able to guide and facilitate a safe and smooth transition
from rehabilitation into return to sport/activity and subsequent training
following their injury.

Qualifications


  • Full certification as a Pilates Instructor through a recognized
    training-provider; rehabilitation levels preferred;

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a practicing Pilates instructor,
    with at least 2 years’ experience working in rehabilitation;

  • Current First Aid and CPR.


RESPONSABILITIES

Pilates Instructors at Fortius are expected to develop and
deliver group and individualized programming in the active Movement Education
studio. Working collaboratively with colleagues engaged in both rehabilitation and
active for life pathways, they will develop and implement a variety of
strategies designed to ensure effective communication both internally (between
departments and practitioners within Fortius) and externally (external
therapists, coaches, IST members, etc.) that collectively result in an
optimally integrated client experience.


The Pilates Instructor should have experience in working
with a variety of clients, including injury rehabilitation (eg rotator cuff
repair) and pathology management (eg chronic back pain). The individual in this
position must have experience working collaboratively with therapists, and
understand how to progress clients through an integrated pathway of care.  


The successful applicant must be extremely organized and
detail oriented and be able to clearly outline and communicate the objectives
and the purpose of an integrated rehabilitation approach in a manner that the
client is able to understand and appreciate.
