The Fortessa Store, an upscale tableware retail establishment that delivers service excellence to restaurateurs, chefs, and foodies alike at One Loudoun is hiring full-time personnel to join the team.

As a Sales Associate Team Leader, you plays a pivotal role in driving sales, enhancing customer experience, and building a strong, motivated team. This position serves as a key point of contact for both consumer and restaurant clients, ensuring that all interactions align with our high standards of service and expertise. In addition to sales responsibilities and daily store operations, the Sales Team Leader will manage social media efforts to strengthen brand visibility and oversee team training to ensure consistency in product knowledge and customer engagement.

Job Description

Sales & Marketing:

Sales: 

  • With a focus on retail customers (consumers), they must also be able to assist with commercial customers in the store, and electronically (phone or email) as required.
  • Generates new business in the store through actively engaging with walk-in customers, understanding their needs, and recommending appropriate products.
  • Coordinate orders and in-store pickups with commercial clients, as needed. 

Marketing & Community Relations: 

  • Work closely with Asst. Store Manager to develop and implement innovative and engaging social media content to promote store products, sales and events.
  • Responsible for assisting in the process of requesting, maintaining, and organizing store related collateral and samples.
  • Assist with quarterly merchandising of the store to refresh store layouts, highlight seasonal collections, and enhance customer flow.
  • Support store leadership in execution of ALL events related to store sales (ex. Annual Better Than Black Friday Sale) and community events (One Loudoun.) 

Store Operations: 

  • Fully participate in daily store activities (register, sales, opening and closing responsibilities), owning the sales process from greeting to checkout.
  • Keep a consist clean and safe work environment for customers and team members. Responsibilities include but are not limited to dusting, sweeping, breaking down and disposing of cardboard boxes.
  • Lead onboarding and ongoing training sessions for team members to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Assist with inventory management, ensuring stock levels align with sales goals and customer demand.  

Shipping & Receiving:

  • When asked, manage inbound deliveries, include delivery log and distribution.  

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time. 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three - five years’ experience in a strong retail sales, customer service, or similar environment.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Excellent time management, scheduling and organizational skills.
  • Excellent follow-through and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as a contributing team member.
  • High energy and motivated self-starter who makes a positive first impression on all customer interactions.  

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • The staff member frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.  The staff member must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus as necessary to read a computer monitor, catalogs, orders, and customer communications, etc.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, in the English language, as this is essential to communicating information to supervisors, coworkers and customers in a way that they can understand. Must be able to communicate in a knowledgeable manner on various Fortessa products/services and sell to prospective customers. 

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work under stress, interruptions and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret print media, trade publications and websites that are in English.
  • Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information, and respond to questions from supervisors, customers, and sales / store staff.
  • Ability to prioritize work, solve problems, and answer questions. 

ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to operate office equipment, e-mail, computer and phone system.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft software including MS Outlook, Internet Explorer, MS Excel, PowerPoint 

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with co-workers in order to prioritize workflow, request assistance if needed and assist others in achieving company goals.

HOURS:

  • Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6:30pm
