Job Description
- Responsible for ensuring accounting transactions are properly accounted for, and reports are prepared, analyzed and delivered on a timely basis, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles.
- Responsible for ensuring account reconciliations are completed accurately and timely.
- Responsible for meeting internal and external client needs as they relate to financial data and analysis requests and inquiries on reported amounts.
- Responsible for executing internal controls over financial reporting and fulfilling internal and external audit requests.
- Responsible for monitoring accounts receivables and assisting with billing and settlements.
- Responsible for coordinating and leading efforts to complete special projects as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Accounting preferred) or equivalent work experience
- CPA or CPA eligible preferred
- 5 plus years of experience in the insurance industry.
- Prior management experience preferred.
- Oracle EBS experience preferred.
- Refining skill sets
- Proven track record of keeping promises to Fortegra team
- Execution leadership. Proven track record of leading a team to improved performance for customers and Fortegra
- Knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting issues
- High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- High degree of innovation is expected to accomplish special projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- High degree of tact and good judgment, especially with auditors and external parties.
- Advanced mathematical, software, and problem-solving skills. Manage and oversee accounting staff.
- Be a self-starter and show ability to meet deadlines and goals in a limited time frame.
- Ability to effectively deal with other company departments and external parties.
- Ability to work independently, requires minimal supervision, and makes effective decisions to complete work assignments.
- Ability to work well with associates in other areas on required work assignments.
