What You’ll Do

  • Assist customers—both in-person and on the phone—with renting storage units. Explain lease terms, fees, and protection plans; and help complete lease agreements.  
  • Consult, sell, and up-sell merchandise such as boxes, tape, and other appropriate products that meet customers’ needs.
  • Ensure that the appearance of the property is customer-ready by making it safe and welcoming. This includes, but not limited to sweeping, mopping, and restroom maintenance. 
  • Assist customers in the unit reservation and rental process.
  • Manage, verify, and balance the cash drawer. Prepare and make daily deposits.
  • Conduct a daily physical storage unit inspection, confirming inventory availability and ensuring each unit is secure or ready to rent.
  • Work closely with the District Manager to receive training and coaching when needed, striving to exceed all company expectations.
  • Our Associates primarily work at one location. However, periodically they are required to work at other locations in their district, so having a personal automobile is highly encouraged / desirable, but not required. 

Qualifications

Successful Retail Associates come from a variety of professional backgrounds, including restaurants, apartments, multi-family, property management, retail, customer service, and sales. However, current students, former teachers and individuals with military, police, firefighter or other first responder experience have also proven to be a great fit for this role. Regardless of your background, we are looking for talented people with the following characteristics: 

  • Must have flexibility to work both weekdays and weekends.
  • Customer-focused and service-oriented personality.
  • Must have the flexibility to work a combination of weekdays and weekends.
  • Strong ability to convert interested customers into new Storage Post customers.
  • Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Responsible, self-directed, able to work alone but also operate well as part of a small team.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with great time management skills.
  • Natural ability to learn new applications as well as work with computers in a Windows environment using Microsoft Office.
  • You must be willing and able to travel to support other stores within the district.
