Job Description

The Senior Database Administrator (DBA) will maintain and provide strategic technical leadership for LTW's donor management system and CRM tool called DonorDirect, an on-premise SQL database built on the Microsoft technology stack. This role will include typical DBA responsibilities, but you will also create easy-to-consume reports and dashbords to help senior leadership understand relevant metrics. You will assist the marketing team on outbound communication efforts by ensuring critical data is clean and up to date. As the Senior DBA you will also be the primary point of contact between LTW and DonorDirect, logging defects and tracking help tickets as necessary.

We are looking for a a strong project manager and leader who wants to put their technical skills to work for a missional organization. The ideal candidates is a results oriented individual who is passionate about helping their customers and won't rest until the job gets done! Specific responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance and support of SQL Server components.
  • Ongoing and new development of custom SQL Server solutions.
  • Database support for assigned applications as well as deployment, implementation and training activities for the DonorDirect suite of applications.
  • Documentation of SQL Server infrastructure, data policies, and Extract/Transfer/Load (ETL) processes.
  • Development, implementation, and support of custom SSRS and SSAS reports.
  • Maintaining clear and open communication with department managers and users across the ministry.
  • Evaluate, report, troubleshoot and resolve identified data and reporting challenges.
  • Confirms project requirements by studying user requirements and conferring with others on project team.
  • Manage user requests by urgency and priority and communicate realistic delivery.
  • Maintain database documentation.
  • Develop on an ongoing basis an understanding of all database systems, and maintaining an ongoing awareness of desired needs and challenges to ensure solutions are researched and provided in a timely manner.
  • Prepare for database expansion by studying plans and requirements; advising senior technical management; coordinating design, programming and testing as well as engaging and educating users of functional changes prior to implementation.
  • Recommend and oversee upgrades of software by assessing transaction processing and database production options.
  • Participate in project meetings with the donor development team to plan upcoming releases, discuss outstanding issues, and make enhancement priority decisions.
  • Maintain to-do list displaying current projects, recurring tasks, and completed projects.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred, but not required.
  • 5 or more years of experience in data maintenance and database management, database design and API's.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with MSSQL, SSMS, SSRS, Version Control, Data Mining, Data Analysis.
  • The following certifications are a plus: MCDBA, MCSA or MCSE.
  • Must be in agreement with LTW's doctrinal statement of faith.
