Job Description

The Server Assistant is responsible for providing prompt and courteous table and customer service to customers. 



  • Deliver water and coffee to tables for customers. 

  • Clear tables of plates, glassware and silverware promptly and efficiently and pre-buss tables when appropriate. 

  • Remove dishes and glassware from tables properly to minimize breakage. 

  • Set tables promptly and efficiently. 

  • Keep ice bins stocked throughout the restaurant. 

  • Help dishwashers and perform special cleaning projects when business is slow and/or when necessary. 

  • Cater to customer wants and needs in a professional, courteous and efficient manner. 

  • Properly dispose of leftover foods and garbage in the dish room. 

  • Move restaurant tables and chairs as necessary to accommodate different sized groups of diners. 

  • Complete daily and special cleaning projects as necessary. 

  • Properly reclaim condiments, sugars, jams, etc. 

  • Know and abide by all environmental policies and procedures as they relate to restaurant operations. 

  • Work cooperatively with coworkers and supervisors. 

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work. 

  • Any other duties as assigned. 



  • May fill in a host or dishwasher shift when necessary. 

  • Knows and follows all company, Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Programs. 

  • Works extra shifts and hours as required. 

  • Assists in other departments as needed.



  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. 

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills. 

  • Exceptional multi-tasking skills and ability to maintain concentration while working in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Ability to learn all company training materials. 



  • Climb stairs and walk on hard, uneven and slippery surfaces. 

  • Stand constantly and move on feet quickly for extended periods of time. 

  • Kneel, bend, stoop and squat repetitively. 

  • Twist and turn frequently. 

  • Reach down, forward and overhead frequently. 

  • Work in hot areas of kitchen (around dishwasher, ovens, cooking equipment) and cold areas (walk in refrigerators and freezers). 

  • Lift up to 40 pounds.  

  • Work with kitchen and general cleaning supplies. 

  • Must be able to properly handle and carry a large, heavy tray of food items and/or dishes and glassware. 



  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred 

  • Minimum 6 months service industry experience required
