Forbes Advisor is a new initiative for consumers under the Forbes Marketplace umbrella that provides journalist- and expert-written insights, news and reviews on all things personal finance, health, business, and everyday life decisions.  We do this by providing consumers with the knowledge and research they need to make informed decisions they can feel confident in, so they can get back to doing the things they care about most.

The Data Research team is responsible for supporting the content written by our expert editors, by collecting, classifying and reviewing data that will be used to subsidize our articles. This is in order to deliver engaging and accurate content our readers expect to help them make smart financial decisions. This role is fundamental to the business’ success, ensuring we are able to publish content quickly, accurately and to a high standard first time. We are seeking a talented individual to help Forbes Marketplace to best leverage and scale our research production capabilities across Forbes Health, Forbes Advisor US, Forbes Advisor international properties, Forbes Home, Forbes Business and Wheels.

You will be working with our Research Managers to collect compile data related to financial products including loans, mortgages, savings/checking accounts, credit cards, online brokerage, insurance, as well as topics such as health products, home improvement, entrepreneurship, legal services, education and software as a service (SaaS) platforms - such as project management software, CRMs or e-commerce platforms.
 

 

Job Description

Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist in gathering and compiling relevant datasets from internal and external sources to support research initiatives.

  • Conduct data cleaning and validation to ensure accuracy and consistency is maintained across research projects.

  • Collaborate with senior researchers to brainstorm and execute data research projects

  • Assist in maintaining data quality by conducting regular data audits and performing quality control tasks.

  • Provide ad-hoc research support as needed for ongoing or new projects within the data research team.

  • Ensure the data is entered correctly and in the expected format

  • Note any discrepancies, non-conforming data, or other issues and escalate it if necessary

 

Skill & Experience

 

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate Data Researcher to join our Data Research Team. In this role, you will support the team in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting complex datasets to drive insights and decision-making across various projects. Your work will directly contribute to advancing our understanding of key data trends, enhancing research capabilities, and ensuring the integrity of the data used in decision-making processes.

Qualifications

  • At least 1-3 years of experience in data research

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under tight deadlines.
