Job Description

Marketplace is seeking a Sr. Associate, Business Operations to own measurement and business operations across our emerging portfolio of owned and operated comparison shopping businesses. 

Reporting to the SVP, O&O Businesses, this role will play a key role designing, launching, and optimizing multiple new business lines in the Health, Home, and Professional service categories. This role will “wear many hats” throughout the start-up phase, building a solid foundation of data-driven operations and processes that will scale with the businesses as they grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Business Optimization - Understand how the business works and what drives key performance metrics. Analyze business data daily to identify optimizations and size their level of effort and impact. Work cross-functionally to implement optimizations, measuring their impact and utilizing those learnings to further drive growth to KPIs. 
  • Measurement and Reporting - Work with SVP, O&P and Analytics team to build effective performance reporting and optimization tools, including database design and off-the-shelf solution research. Iterate on reporting solutions to improve speed, accuracy, access, and impact of reporting over time. 
  • Business Operations - Build project plans around primary business objectives and key results. Communicate upwards and outwards on progress, blockers, and learnings in order to efficiently complete projects. Learn business operations technologies and work within them to set up, QA, launch, and optimize programs. 
  • Financial Modeling and Prioritization - Utilize business performance and financial data to model opportunities, understand the impact of changes, support data-driven decision making, and allocate resources to top priorities. Collaborate with functional leads and the SVP, O&O to set revenue and cost targets for the business. Equip the team with timely and accurate performance reporting daily in order to coordinate collective efforts towards actions that most favorably impact progress to KPIs. 

 

Skills and Experience

Must Have: 

  • 2-3 years in an Analyst or Operations role, preferably at a large affiliate or performance marketing business
  • Advanced data manipulation skills including MS Excel and Looker/Tableau. Experience collaborating with Data Engineers and Analytics leads to design and build measurement frameworks 
  • Experience working with a cross-functional team to understand performance and prioritize, execute optimizations
  • Start-up and/or small business experience where you wore multiple hats, had to be scrappy and resourceful, and operate confidently in an ambiguous environment without an established playbook
  • Strong written and oral communication skills including data insights curation and storytelling, problem resolution, and/or resource allocation decision making

 

Nice to Have: 

  • Experience at a Health, Home, or Professional Service and/or comparison marketplace business
  • Experience managing lead generation and sales programs in platforms such as Impact Radius, Commission Junction, and Leadspedia (or similar) 
  • Market sizing experience including TAM, SAM, and SOM research and customer, partner segmentation and sizing
  • Experience working within growth marketing tools that track and analyze performance for digital programs such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and SEOclarity
  • SQL skills
